Flight Lieutenant Christopher BrewardMA MSc DPhil RAFVR(T)Officer CommandingRCO, WI(C)Flt Lt Breward followed his father's footsteps when he joined 2182 (Dorchester) Squadron ATC at the age or 13, and made a Cadet Warrant Officer on his 18th birthday. Shortly afterwards, he came to Oxford University to read for a mathematics degree and joined 150 (City of Oxford) Squadron, with whom he paraded during term time. At the end of his degree, he found himself signing up for another one – this time a Masters, and was commissioned in January 1995 as an officer with 878 (Highworth) Squadron, Dorset and Wilts Wing, and he also retained his affiliation with 150 Squadron by becoming a Supernumerary Officer. Following his Master’s degree he decided to remain a student for even longer and studied for a Doctorate. In January 1997 he founded 2267 (Lechlade) Detached Flight, which he commanded for nearly two-and-a-half years. Unfortunately, he was unable to put off 'getting a real job' any longer, and in June 1999 moved to Sheffield to work in a hospital modelling how cancer spreads. He spent his two years in The North as a Squadron officer with 367 (South Sheffield) Squadron, but finding real life too hard, returned to Oxford, academia, and Thames Valley Wing in June 2001. His day job is with the Maths Department of Oxford University, undertaking and facilitating research, and lecturing for St Anne's College (where he terrorises undergraduates with hard sums). In 2007, Flt Lt Breward was awarded the Commandant's Certificate for Meritorious Service. |

Plt Off Azizian was awarded the Commandant's Certificate for Good Service, as a cadet, in 2006. |

Adult Sergeant Michaela LewisBSc ATCFirst Aid Officer; Shooting OfficerRCO; Weapons CoachLewis is another of our former cadets, having achieved the highest cadet rank possible in the corps, and one of the last CWOs in the ATC to be privileged to hold the position until the age of 22. She takes on the roles of First Aid Officer and Shooting Officer: Not only does she manage the shooting team and the firing practice program, but she is also our First Aid Trainer... I'll let you make the jokes! |
